From Migliozzi to Woosnam: KLM Open back to Badhoevedorp

In early June, the best golfers of the DP World Tour will descend on Badhoevedorp for the 106th edition of the oldest international sporting event in the Netherlands. The International will be the setting for the third year in a row. The tournament will last four days: from June 4 to 7, 2026.

Guido Migliozzi won the 105th edition of the KLM Open via a three-man playoff. Whether the Italian will come to defend his title at The International has not yet been confirmed, but the course on which he won is impressive enough to return to. The championship course was designed by Ian Woosnam, the Welsh former world number one, and stretches over 7,350 yards - equivalent to over 6,700 meters of fairways, roughs and greens directly west of Schiphol Airport.

The International is hosting the tournament for the third consecutive year. The clubhouse is decorated by Studio Piet Boon, with a Club Lounge and multiple TV screens on which you can watch the tournament live when you've had enough of the course itself for a while. Hospitality tickets give access to that lounge - a lot more comfortable than standing along the sidelines in the June rain, although that's part of it, too.

The tournament is part of the DP World Tour European Swing and counts toward the Race to Dubai - the ranking that determines who is the best golfer in Europe at the end of the season. This attracts players of the highest European level to Badhoevedorp.

The course was designed by Ian Woosnam, the Welsh former world number one, and stretches over 7,350 yards - converted to over 6,700 yards of fairways, roughs and greens directly west of Schiphol Airport.

The KLM Open was first played in 1912, making the tournament older than most sports competitions in the world. You hardly notice that history in the format - it feels modern, well-organized and accessible to those who want to see golf up close without needing a handicap themselves.
