Anyone in the Jordaan looking for quirky stores and restaurants will soon end up at the Haarlemmerstraat and Haarlemmerdijk. This lively part of Amsterdam is a good example of how neighborhood stores combine with hip vintage clothing stores, caterers and design. Eyes and ears are in short supply here. There are several restaurants and in the middle rises the stately Posthoornkerk. The many coffeeshops you will find there attract tourists from all over the world. Coffee shop Barney's even serves breakfast for the early blower. If you are done shopping, you can relax at the end of the street in the Westerpark.
