Restaurant 212 is Amsterdam's first no-table restaurant. In this spectacular space, you sit at the bar built around the kitchen. The restaurant is the culinary dream of business partners and friends Richard van Oostenbrugge and Thomas Groot. They both worked as chefs at the two-star restaurant Bord'Eau and now it was time for new steps. With their own restaurant, they are stripping the high-end lunch and dinner from unnecessary etiquette and make room for casual enjoyment.

On the menu at Restaurant 212

The menu can be ordered à la carte as well as in 5- or 7-courses. Of course with fine matching wines or full wine pairing. Dishes adorning the menu include Langoustine cooked in duck fat with dashi-Albufera sauce, coffee and Katsuobushi and Turbot with sauerkraut, bacon, black truffle, broth of vin jaune and trompette de la morte.

Opening hours

Restaurant 212 is open Tuesday to Saturday from noon to 11 p.m.

As in art, executive chef Joris Bijdendijk (formerly of Ron Blaauw and Bridges) draws inspiration from the many exotic flavors that have influenced Dutch cuisine over the centuries. Interior designer Paul Linse drew for the...

Two-star restaurant renamed &Moshik

&Samhoud Places continues under name of its top chef and owner

Moshik 14

After years of standing very successfully behind the stove at 't Brouwerskolkje in Overveen, and being awarded two Michelin stars for his cooking, two-star chef Moshik Roth traded his endearing garden shed for concrete new construction on Oosterdok Island. The bold concept &moshik looks more like a phone store than a Michelin-starred restaurant from the outside, but once inside, from the matter-of-fact bleakness exuded by the lettering outside,...
