World Press Photo 2026 exhibition at New Church

Spring and summer, from April 24 through September 27, the New Church will once again be entirely devoted to the 69th edition of the annual World Press Photo exhibition; the international press photo contest for which 150 award-winning images by world-renowned press photographers are selected.

The world premiere of World Press Photo 2026, the major annual international press photo competition, traditionally takes place in The New Church. You can see all 150-plus award-winning images and videos again in the church on Dam Square from April 24 through September 27, including the stunning World Press Photo of the Year and the World Press Photo Story of the Year. And of course many impressive photos in the categories News, Portraits, Sports, Nature and Environment and the winning films of the Digital Storytelling Contest.

Winners
The annual World Press Photo Contest, which recognizes and celebrates the best photojournalism and documentary photography of the past year, will announce its winners in the spring of 2026. The organization will announce 42 winners on April 9, and from this selection, the Photo of the Year winner and two finalists will be announced on April 23.

Audio tour
The World Press Photo exhibition will be on display at The New Church from April 24 through September 27. Curious about the stories behind the images? Through a special audio tour, the photographers and journalists will tell their personal stories. The audio tour is included in the ticket price. Have fun!
