Hungry Eye Gallery opens doors in North: fine art photography gets new home

Saturday, June 28, the creative energy bursts forth! Hungry Eye Gallery - formerly Kahmann Gallery - invites you to a dazzling Open Day in their brand new home in Oostzaan, just across the border from Amsterdam North. In the architecturally impressive building by Studio Piet Boon you will discover fine art photography at its most modern.

After two decades as Kahmann Gallery, in which vintage and classic analog work set the tone, Hungry Eye Gallery is starting a new chapter this year. In May 2025, the gallery was given a fresh name as well as a broader vision: in addition to icons, there is now space for contemporary, experimental and AI-inspired projects.

The Open Day on June 28 (1-7 p.m.) is your chance to see that innovation with your own eyes. From legendary analog prints AND iconic talents - to the youngest generation working with mixed media, digital edits and even AI. These are images that challenge, surprise and create memories - exactly what Hungry Eye wants to achieve.

The new home is not just any location. Studio Piet Boon designed it at Skoon 80H, near the Jewish Quarter of North and the tranquility of Oostzaan. Sleek, raw architecture contrasting with intimate, narrative photography - together they are a match made in art heaven.

Their vision extends beyond exhibitions: there is a gallery LAB to coach young talent, short video documentaries with artists (such as Sara Punt, Nina Hauben and J.D.) and special services such as studio or home presentations - so that art is truly within everyone's reach.

"We don't just show images - we tell the stories behind them." - Hungry Eye Gallery team

Their participation in major art and photo fairs such as Photo London, KunstRAI and their own Hungry Eye Fair later this year, shows that the gallery remains firmly entrenched on the international circuit.
