What happens when you put the gentlemen from grill restaurant Castell and Italian restaurant Bar Barolo together at one table? Then you get a cross-pollination that culminates in a collaboration and the opening of a second location of Amsterdam's world-famous Castell, on Valeriusstraat in Oud-Zuid. 

There is no shortage of good restaurants in Oud-Zuid. But a good grill restaurant was actually still missing. With Castell's arrival on Valeriusstraat, we can look forward to evenings of Amsterdam conviviality and Amsterdam's most perfect steak.

Since 1971, Castell has been the place in Amsterdam for late night dining. The grillers of the perfect steak have delighted many an evening of Amsterdam coziness in the cozy restaurant. 

Since the 1970s, Castell has been a household name in Amsterdam. The restaurant on Laanbaangracht was once Amsterdam's best kept secret, now it's high on all the international lists. Who hasn't eaten at Castell? From Mick Jagger to Quentin Tarantino, and from Johan Cruijff to Willem Alexander and Maxima, and many other celebrities.
