Walking from the Vondelpark toward Museumplein, De Roos' 19th-century villa immediately stands out among the greenery. Inside, it is not a standard yoga studio or ordinary café, but a house where different worlds come together: yoga, pilates, meditation, vegetarian cuisine and small-scale culture.
The Rose has existed as a spiritual and cultural center since the early 2000s. The building is furnished with several rooms where yoga classes, pilates and other consciousness-oriented activities take place. The atmosphere is quiet and practical at the same time: wood floors, lots of light, and windows overlooking trees and parkland. You won't hear a murmur of traffic, only soft voices from classes or people staying to chat afterward.

An important part of The Rose is its teahouse and lunchroom. The kitchen is completely vegetarian and largely plant-based, serving light meals, pastries, coffee, tea and other beverages. It is a place where people settle down with a cup of tea after a class, as well as local residents drop in for a quiet lunch in a green setting. The park-like setting makes you almost forget you're so close to the hustle and bustle around P.C. Hooftstraat.
In the neighborhood around Museumplein, De Roos has a clear niche: a quiet villa next to the park where you can do yoga or pilates, eat vegetarian food and catch a lecture or small concert in between. No garish wellness, but a place where attention, tranquility and encounters are paramount.
