International dance films during Cinedans at Eye Film Museum

From March 25 to 29, 2026, Eye Filmmuseum will transform into a playground for dance on film. Cinedans FEST '26 celebrates its 22nd edition with some 110 films from more than 50 countries, from short dance films to documentaries, installations and VR works. Part of the program continues online through Cinedans WEB 2026.

During Cinedans FEST '26, everything revolves around the intersection between dance and film. In the halls of Eye Filmmuseum you will see around 110 titles from more than 50 countries: short international dance films, long feature films, documentaries, installations and VR works. From tightly filmed choreographies to experimental movement studies, the body in the image is always central.

The festival already has 22 editions under its belt and has become a fixture for creators from the film and dance world. Choreographers, filmmakers and dancers join us during festival days for Q&As after screenings, public talks and master classes. Those conversations often continue in the foyer, where audiences and professionals meet between screenings.

A key component is the international Short Film Competition. Here you will see the dance films that are now defining the conversation: sharply chosen titles that show how far you can stretch the collaboration between camera and body. There are also other competition and themed programs, in which the curators juxtapose installations and VR works with more traditional film screenings. So one moment you step into a dark room for a headset experience, and the next you're back in a large cinema auditorium.

A key component is the international Short Film Competition.

Thus, Cinedans FEST '26 connects Eye's theaters with a global network of creators and viewers, and shows how dance film continues to innovate - on screen, in installations, in VR and online.
