Rolling Kitchens with Ascension at Westergas

During the upcoming Ascension weekend, the iconic food festival Rollende Keukens once again descends on the beloved Westergasfabriek grounds. For four days, the grounds in West will transform into the largest open-air restaurant in the Netherlands, where thousands of foodies will gather for a weekend full of flavor, music and conviviality.

From Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 17, over one hundred mobile kitchens, colorful food trucks and creative chefs fill the grounds with scents from all corners of the world. For years, Rolling Kitchens has been known as the food festival where culinary classics and innovative concepts come together effortlessly. From wood-oven pizzas and fresh oysters to slow-cooked barbecue meat, Asian street food dishes and traditional Dutch favorites: there is literally something for every appetite.

What makes Rolling Kitchens so special is the relaxed festival atmosphere that the event manages to create every year. Visitors stroll between the food trucks with a good glass of wine or special beer, find a spot in the grass or settle down at long picnic tables for their next culinary discovery. Meanwhile, live bands, DJs and buskers scattered throughout the grounds will provide a soundtrack perfect for the first real days of spring of the year.

“Rolling Kitchens proves every year that the best days of summer begin with good food, fine music and enjoying the Amsterdam outdoors together.”

Once again this year, visitors can count on a mix of familiar crowd favorites and new culinary talents. It is this combination that makes the festival surprising every year. From refined dishes to guilty pleasures and from artisanal desserts to creative cocktails: Rollende Keukens feels like a world tour of flavors, without having to leave Amsterdam.

With the industrial charm of the Westergasterrein as its backdrop and the first summer temperatures on the way, Rollende Keukens promises to be another of the absolute highlights of the Amsterdam festival season. Those who want to start the summer tastefully know where to go.

Whatever you're craving, there's bound to be a food truck serving it! From fresh Italian pizzas to refined seafood, great cuts of meat from the barbeque to old Dutch classics. Every taste has been thought of. In addition to food, there will be drinks and entertainment and all kinds of live bands and deejays performing throughout the day.
