Fever Originals brings the Candlelight Concert concept to the Oosterpark neighborhood, and the choice of location is good: the former chapel of Hotel Arena is exactly the kind of space this works for. High vaults, historic details, not a ceiling spot in sight. The hotel has been there since 1886 and has been through a lot in all those years, but an evening of ABBA hits by candlelight is also something new for this building.
The program revolves entirely around the music of Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson and Anni-Frid Lyngstad, or ABBA. A string ensemble plays the songs live, sixty minutes long, without intermission. The setlist is a summary of one of pop music's most successful catalogs. Dancing Queen is there, of course, as are Mamma Mia and Waterloo. And Fernando, that song you always sing along with somewhere halfway through without realizing it.

The chapel is where the concert stands or falls. The space has something modern venues don't have: history you feel as soon as you enter. Candlelight adds to that. It's not a trick, it really changes how you listen. Less distraction, more focus on what's being played. Seats are assigned by zone in order of entry, with no set seat numbers. Those who are early have the most choice. Doors open thirty minutes before curtain-up, and those who arrive late cannot enter once the concert has begun.
Candlelight adds to that. It's not a trick, it really changes how you listen.
The two confirmed editions in 2026 are on May 2 and June 21. Tickets start at 30 euros. Children as young as 8 are welcome, although under 16 must come with an adult. Hotel Arena is right by the Oosterpark, easily accessible by public transportation. An evening of ABBA in an 1886 chapel lit by candles: it sounds almost too good to just scroll through.
