Lasse Nielsen lived in San Francisco for many years before opening his own lunch café in 2014—and the city’s name has been displayed above the door of his shop near the Nieuwmarkt ever since. San Francisco Sandwich Company is neither a franchise nor a chain, but a personally run business based on the offerings of a classic American deli.
