Amsterdam Weekend Tips: What to do this weekend?

During the cold weekend of March 10, 11 and 12, there is again plenty to see, do and taste in our beautiful Amsterdam.

A weekend of fun things to do is upon us again. From the impressive, sensory exhibition of Dalí and Gaudí at Fabrique des Lumières to tasting the most delicious antipasta, pizza and pasta at Sebastian in the 9 Streets, discovering new sounds in the world of opera at the National Opera, enjoying 10 hours of musical duo ANOTR at the Gashouder, spotting vintage home accessories during Sunday Market at De Hallen, watching Asian films at the Cinemasia Film Festival and admiring the fairytale world of Sam & Julia at Het Muizenhuis. Dalí: The Endless Enigma

Work of Gaudí and Dalí comes to life at Fabrique des Lumières
Art Center Fabrique des Lumières on the Westergasfabriek grounds offers an innovative way to experience the work of Catalan masters Dalí and Gaudí. The sensory exhibition brings Salvador Dalí's famous psychedelic works and Antoni Gaudí's artworks to life with the help of Pink Floyd's music. The impressive exhibition is a tribute to both artists.

The Amsterdam-based DJ duo ANOTR is the sensation of the moment. Young producers and deejays Jesse van der Heijden and Oguzhan Guney have been called a breath of fresh air by their supporters with a distinctive sound and energetic performances. On Saturday, the energetic duo will perform a 10-hour set at the Gashouder.

The Movies finally reopens after two years
After being closed for two years due to a large-scale renovation, opens The Movies, Amsterdam's oldest movie theater, reopened its doors this weekend. Due to foundation problems and danger of subsidence, the foundation and the cinema have been completely renewed. The cinema meets today's standards in sound, picture and comfort and programs as of old arthouse films in combination with the better Hollywood productions.

The Mouse House moves to Mint Square

The Mouse House was recently in the worldwide spotlight because of a selfie by comedian Ricky Gervais with 48,000 likes stating that he had just seen a mouse on clogs. Gervais wrote that he was very impressed with the museum and that he would have liked to stay there all day. The Mouse House consists of a series of impressive miniature sets known from the book series of the same name about the fairytale world surrounding the little mice Sam and Julia. In addition to the books, which are published in 8 languages in 34 countries, work is underway on an international TV series. This summer the mini museum will move to a new location on Muntplein.

Vermeer retrospective exhibition at The Rijksmuseum 

For the first time ever, the Rijksmuseum a retrospective exhibition of Johannes Vermeer. With 28 masterpieces by the Delft artist from the 17th century, 7 of which have never before been shown in the Netherlands, this is the largest exhibition ever.
