ROEF Rooftop Festival showcases the most beautiful roof terraces
Did you already know that Amsterdam has the most amazing rooftop terraces? On the weekend of June 12 and 13, the annual Rooftop Festival ROEF will take place, using the city's 14 most beautiful rooftops as a playground for a full program of live music, silent disco, theater, bocce, spoken word and karaoke.
Together with Vondel Disco, Duke of Tokyo, Juicy, Over het IJ Festival, ODAM and Pop-Up City, ROEF will provide crazy takeovers on and under impressive rooftops. O Friday evening, the A'DAM Tower will be dedicated to jeu de boules at high altitude. Join Rooftop Futures talk on the roof of TQ . Dance to hip hop at the tropical, sustainable Hotel Jakarta. And on the roof of W Amsterdam you will be surprised by DJs and an art performance around the pool.
On Saturday night, take a seat in a hot tub on the roof of the Volkshotel. Dance with Vondel Disco on the roof of Nemo. On 5 other rooftops you'll experience live music, spoken word and performances. And end with a karaoke pop-up by Duke of Tokyo on the 21st floor of Hotel QO Amsterdam in bar Juniper & Kin.
ROEF organizes the Rooftop Festival not as an end, but as a means. Amsterdam's highest festival shows that - right above our heads - there is unused space with enormous (sustainable) opportunities. ROEF shows the (future) possibilities of Amsterdam's rooftop landscape.

In the compact city it is essential to utilize the space on the roof: space for residents, for city parks, vegetable gardens and energy generation. Green roofs are rainwater buffers, particulate filters and places for biodiversity. It leads to healthier air and healthier people. And last April a new insect was even discovered on the roof (read more).
