April festivities: A week-long party at the Nieuwmarkt
The 32nd edition of the April Fair is coming up. From April 19 to 28, various activities will take place at the Nieuwmarkt. Expect entertainment for the kids, good food, markets and lots of live music. For and by the Amsterdammer.
Amsterdam's biggest neighborhood party will kick off on Friday, April 19. The Aprilfeesten on the Nieuwmarkt has been a household name for years and will again this year be organized by and for local residents. What once started as a few tents and cars on the square has grown into a multi-day event.
The Aprilfest program
There is plenty to do for young and old during the April Festivities. From activities such as face painting and making music to a spin in the (mini) Ferris wheel and floating in the carousel. Enjoy tasty snacks and drinks and live performances by various local artists and bands. For the full program, visit local retailers and ask for the brown program booklet. Opening hours
The official opening hours are 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. but keep in mind that there is occasionally continued partying until after 11 p.m.
