A'DAM Tower opens VR gaming pop-up in Club Shelter
Where the basement of the A'DAM Tower used to be filled with music, DJs and dancers every weekend, it is now dead quiet there since the corona crisis. The "1.5-meter society" makes it impossible for the nightclub to be open for the time being. Hence, starting June 1, the site of Club Shelter will temporarily make way for A'DAM VR Game Park, the Netherlands' largest pop-up VR gaming experience.
For 10 weekends now, Club Shelter's dance floor has been empty. On March 12, the underground nightclub had to close its doors due to the corona crisis. The A'DAM Tower team has therefore spent the past few weeks looking for a temporary fill-in for the basement where people can still have fun, at an appropriate distance from each other. Starting June 1, the dance floor of Club Shelter will transform into the largest VR gaming paradise in the Netherlands.
"We had been toying with the idea of doing something with VR for some time, and the corona crisis accelerated this. Within 6 weeks, our team realized a complete VR park. The result is a versatile and beautiful collection of the best VR games of the moment - a great addition to our tower." - Sander Groet, Founding Partner A'DAM Tower
A'DAM VR Game Park
In the underground A'DAM VR Game Park, novice and advanced gamers alike will discover the most exclusive and latest virtual reality games of the moment - from sensational 4D simulations to thrilling free-roaming zombie shooters and blood-curdling escape rooms. Using state-of-the-art technology, visitors immerse themselves in another dimension. A'DAM VR Game Park consists of 600m2 divided into two zones. The FREE ZONE is open to everyone free of charge and gives visitors a choice of various single games for €5. In the PLAY ZONE, small groups (max. 4 people) are guided along a series of exclusive games. The group experiences these games together, but can stay at an appropriate distance from each other while doing so.
Booking
Because of the RIVM measures, starting June 1, it will only be possible to come and play games at A'DAM VR Game Park with a reservation through the website.
