The work of famed photographer David Yarrow transcends the genre of wildlife photography and is collected and displayed worldwide as fine art. The legendary Scottish photographer avoids no danger or challenge to capture the beauty of the world's most appealing and endangered species. With his photography, Yarrow has earned an unparalleled reputation and manages to reach an audience of millions with his larger-than-life photographs.
Conservationist
In addition to being a photographer, David Yarrow is equally a conservationist. A large portion of sales his photographs and books benefit the WildAid and Tusk foundations, of which David is an ambassador. Wherever Yarrow appears, literally hundreds of fans flock to see his breathtaking photos and sold-out shows. A star status that the good-humored photographer gratefully uses to raise astronomical amounts of money to protect and preserve the fragile species he so cherishes.
"To take pictures that make people quiet, you have to surprise, amaze and innovate," said
David. "Showing things that have not been shown before. You can't renew the world with a picture of a
sheep in New Zealand. Deep in remote Africa or the extreme reaches of the Arctic, there lies
the unexplored territory. There must be at least five days between departure and taking the picture,
otherwise anyone can do it. You literally have to be on top of it otherwise it's implausible. Let me put it this way, you don't photograph a beautiful woman with a 400mm lens, do you?"
David Yarrow at Kunsthuis Amsterdam
On Saturday Nov. 9 and Sunday Nov. 10, David Yarrow will be at Kunsthuis Amsterdam to promote his new work and book, a 350-plus page book with a selection of his best work.
