Reflection | 反映 shows how the work of one generation of pioneering photographers manages to inspire the next, and how "inspirer" and "student" influence each other's work. In addition to work by Eikoh Hosoe, Daido Moriyama and Issei Suda, the exhibition also features work by Dutch photographers Yamandú Roos and Aram Tanis.
Photography greats
Eikoh Hosoe, Daido Moriyama and Issei Suda are considered founding fathers of modern Japanese photography and have had a great influence on other photographers. Hosoe, Moriyama and Suda inspired each other to arrive at the work that made them world famous. For example, Daido Moriyama was once a student of Eikoh Hosoe. Moriyama, known for his confrontational black-and-white photography, described his own style as "are, bure, boke," which means raw, blurry and out of focus in Japanese.

The Gallery Club Weekend
For the exhibition Reflection | 反映, music producer and DJ Robi Reisinger (a.k.a. Jazzfunked) has created a video compilation. In about 120 images, he rhythmically showcases the photographers' oeuvre. In this way, visitors are introduced to their work in an approachable way. Both weekends start festively on Friday evening with an exclusive dinner where Yamandú Roos and Aram Tanis talk about their work in an intimate setting.
The Gallery Club Weekend takes place Friday, July 3 to Sunday, July 5 and Friday, July 10 to Sunday, July 12. From noon to 7 p.m.
