Anyone curious about the city's past and present has a unique opportunity this weekend. During Open Monumentendag 2025 you will discover not only the stories behind stately mansions, churches and almshouses, but also the cultural significance of places where Amsterdammers come together to celebrate, eat or make memories - then and now.
This year's focus is on meeting places: from historic social clubs to iconic clubs, and from working-class neighborhoods to hidden backyards. Visitors can take a peek behind front doors that normally remain closed, scattered throughout the city. For example, walk through the corridors of Felix Meritis on Keizersgracht, dive into the history of De Duif on Prinsengracht, or discover the dance history of legendary nightlife venues.

Extra special: on Saturday night, many monuments remain open until late. Expect attractively lit facades, small concerts and nighttime tours. And as always: admission is free. That makes this weekend not only cultural, but also approachable and connecting.
"Anyone who wants to understand what makes Amsterdam so unique need only open a door this weekend."
With the jubilee year as its theme, this edition offers an ode to Amsterdam togetherness, from then to now. A festive and educational outing for curious locals and visitors from out of town.
