Leonardo's Ravioli Bar: Authentic Italian ravioli bar in De Pijp area

A new culinary gem has opened in bustling De Pijp: Leonardo's Ravioli Bar. Chef Leonardo Pacenti, known for the iconic Toscanini, pays tribute to artisanal, stuffed pasta with this concept - and it comes straight from the heart.

Anyone who has ever eaten fresh ravioli in Italy knows that there is magic in them: silky smooth dough, a filling full of flavor and a bite that is just enough against it. That's exactly what chef Leonardo Pacenti was missing in Amsterdam - until now. Out of pure frustration and passion Leonardo's Ravioli Bar was born, an intimate establishment in the Eerste van der Helststraat, where everything revolves around authentic ravioli with a modern twist.

The menu is small but sophisticated. Think ravioli with ricotta and spinach in sage butter, stuffed gnocchi with truffles and seasonal specials like pumpkin with amaretti or lobster with lemon cream. Everything is homemade, with ingredients that come straight from Italy or from top local farmers. For those who want to share or have drinks: there are also cicchetti - small Venetian appetizers - and natural wines by the glass.

"With Leonardo's Ravioli Bar, I want to show that good pasta is simple, but never boring. And that ravioli deserves more than a supermarket box." - Leonardo Pacenti

The interior is like the kitchen: elegant in its simplicity. A long bar to eat at, open views of the kitchen, warm tones and rustic materials create an intimate atmosphere without fuss. You come here for good food, not fuss.

Pacenti's ravioli bar is open Wednesday through Sunday and also offers take-away service for those who prefer to enjoy his filled works of art at home. Or as he puts it himself, "Ravioli should not be an afterthought, but the star of the evening."
