Petit Caron reopens on Westergas as Cantine de Caron

Petit Caron is open again. But because the restaurant in the Pijp is too small to handle 1.5-meter rule, the delicious French dishes and wines of top chef Alain Caron and his sons David and Tom are now temporarily served in the Machine Building on the Westergasfabriek grounds.

The famous French eatery Petit Caron is temporarily leaving Amsterdam South for Amsterdam West this summer. To comply with the 1.5 meter rule Alain Caron and his sons will move to the Westergasterrein where they have found a larger location including two terraces in the Machinefabriek. For the occasion, the gentlemen owners have changed the name Petit Caron to Grand Caron.

French blow
At Grand Caron, step inside for French dishes that taste great with a glass of wine. Think oysters, rilettes, chartcuterie, sardines, snails, salad with confit duck leg and côte de boeuf. In addition to French wines, the exquisite dishes are also complimented with Italian and German wines.

"After the relaxation, it soon became apparent that Petit Caron could not open due to the new rules," Tom Caron explains in Het Parool. "Grand Caron will be just like Petit Caron. "But then wholesale."

Culinary dynasty
In addition to Petit Carin (now Grand Caron), the Caron family has two other restaurants in Amsterdam. Cafe Caron in de Pijp and the Gouden Reael near Prinseneiland. All restaurants are open in compliance with the 1.5-meter rule. From the beginning of June, the restaurants will accommodate thirty guests. From July 1, that will be a multiple of up to 100 guests. And hopefully from August, the restaurants will be back in full operation. There is more room on the terraces of Grand Caron, Cafe Caron and the Gouden Reael.
