Museums
Amsterdam has an exceptionally high number of museums for a city this size. The Rijksmuseum, the Van Gogh Museum and the Stedelijk Museum are a short walk from each other around Museumplein. Historic downtown and canals
The ring of canals is a Unesco World Heritage Site and is in itself one of the city's main attractions. The combination of seventeenth-century rows of facades, bridges and canals can be explored on foot, by bicycle or from the water.
