Javaplein Vintage Market: Browse, browse and score

Whether you succumb to a retro dress with flair, a 1960s design lamp or just love the smell of past glory - the Javaplein Vintage Market in Amsterdam East is your place. From stylish finds to nostalgic gems: here you'll wander through decades of design with a smile on your face and vinyl under your arm.

It's a Sunday the way you like it best: coffee in your hand, sun on your face and a square full of characterful stalls. The Javaplein Vintage Market - set up by Club Niche Vintage Studio, Flint and Phillip and Found in Sweden - brings together a carefully curated selection of some twenty vintage merchants. The offerings are anything but average: think rare home accessories, leather jackets that whisper stories, Scandinavian ceramics, retro radios and clothes dating back to the seventies.

What makes this market special is the atmosphere. No crowded halls, but an intimate square where you can get into a conversation with vendors about the origin of that hand-knotted rug or that minimalist coffee table. Each stall exudes expertise and love of the trade. And: you don't have to look for treasures, they find you.

The market takes place four times a year, with the following editions still to come:
Sept. 6, Oct. 11 and Dec. 13 (Christmas Edition).

"At the Javaplein Vintage Market you not only score unique items, you also take home a piece of the story."

The market is usually open from 10:00 am to 5:00 pm, and admission is - yep - absolutely free. Perfect for a spontaneous afternoon with friends, family or a first date who loves retro as much as you do.
