De Japanner: Amsterdam conviviality & Japanese finger food
Fancy Japanese finger food and an evening of Amsterdam conviviality? Whether you find yourself in the Pijp, Oud-West, Zuidas or on beach island in IJburg, De Japanner's restaurants are just a stone's throw away.
The Japanner is based on the Japanese Izakaya: small bars where workers relax after a long day of work with finger food, beer and sake. De Japanner is the first Amsterdam Izakaya where you walk in for an evening of Amsterdam conviviality while enjoying a Japanese bite and sip. Until the late hours.
Originating in the world-famous Albert Cuyp market, owners Tosao van Coevorden and Guido de Bruijn have not been idle since. With locations in the Pijp, Oud-West, Zuidas and IJburg, De Japanner's flavorful and affordable Japanese snacks are not far from home for anyone.
"At De Japanner, slide in for their sublime Japanese finger food dishes prepared with local and seasonal produce. The bites taste even better when you pair them with a Japanese beer, sake or a Japanese cocktail."
Tosao van Coevorden and Guido de Bruijn
The Japanner is a dream come true for owners Tosao van Coevorden and Guido de Bruijn. Ever since high school, the men have dreamed of owning their own business in the hospitality industry. While Tosao was taught the intricacies of Japanese cuisine by his mother and father (AM: Schilo van Coevorden of Taiko restaurant in the Conservatory), Guido was trained in various bars on and around the Leidseplein. Guido's hospitality and Tos's amazing appetizers is what makes De Japanner De Japanner.
