VIDEO: Amsterdam without people, empty and rare beauty
Corona has brought Amsterdam to a standstill. The streets are empty. Restaurants, gyms and stores are locked. People are staying inside. And the tourists have gone home. Marc van Voorst tot Voorst cycled through the empty city streets with his camera and filmed Amsterdam in a golden glow of spring sunshine without droves of people.
How much longer? Amsterdam is currently being warmed by the sun but instead of crowding the terraces en masse and embracing spring, the coronavirus is keeping us at home for a while longer. Hang in there, dear people. Our beautiful city will wait and soon we will celebrate spring twice over.
