The 8th edition of the annual Amsterdam Light Festival will take place from Nov. 28 through Jan. 19 next year. The 53-day light sculpture exhibition features 20 works of art by well-known national and international artists. The festival is best admired from the water. You can do this on your own or by booking a tour with one of the city's well-known canal cruise companies.

Disrupt!
The 2019/2020 edition of the Amsterdam Light Festival focuses on Disruption. Several artists, designers and architects were challenged, as part of the Disrupt! theme, to interrogate, test and wake up the environment of the city of Amsterdam with works of light art.

New route
In keeping with the Disrupt! theme, this year there is a completely new route, departing from the traditional route along the Herengracht. The route (Oosterdok, Oudeschans, Amstel, Nieuwe Keizersgracht, Plantage Muidergracht, Entrepotdok) explores the eastern part of the center.
