Amsterdam North
Some residents felt Amsterdam North did not really belong to the city. This had its reasons. They thought it was too different and too far away to really be part of the city. But times change and this part of town is now developing and definitely worth a visit! The architecture you encounter here is more industrial and raw. The district is also home to the IJ-Hallen, the largest vintage market in the city. Whatever you do, don't skip this interesting part of Amsterdam. With all its wonderful changes, this is definitely not to be missed.
First of all, you have a great view of the city and 't IJ. For even more spectacular views, be sure to visit the A'DAM Tower. This 22-story landmark is home to first-class cafes and restaurants, including a revolving restaurant on the 19th floor. On the roof, you'll have great views of Amsterdam. Brewery de Vriendschap opened a tasting room in this district. The first brew, Hopblond, was an immediate success and a great start to the owners' brewing career. All their beers are also unpasteurized and, if asked, unfiltered.
As an experienced city guide of Amsterdam, we are sure you will enjoy this beautiful part of the city to the max.
