World Press Photo 2024: Photo exhibition at The New Church
Currently, the New Church is once again entirely dedicated to the 67th edition of the annual World Press Photo exhibition; the international press photo contest for which 150 award-winning images by world-renowned press photographers are selected.
The world premiere of World Press Photo 2024, the major annual international press photo contest, traditionally takes place in The New Church. You can see all 150-plus award-winning images and videos, including the stunning World Press Photo of the Year and the World Press Photo Story of the Year. And of course many impressive photos in the categories News, Portraits, Sports, Nature and Environment and the winning films of the Digital Storytelling Contest.
The World Press Photo of the Year 2024
The winning 2024 World Press Photo was photographed by Mohammed Salem, a Palestinian photographer born in 1985. His moving photo is titled "A Palestinian Woman Embraces the Body of Her Niece." According to the photographer, the image captures a powerful and sad moment that captures the general feeling of what was happening in the Gaza Strip at the time.

The exhibition will be on display at The New Church from April 19 to July 14, 2024.
