Strip Fest turns raw Hammer Quarter upside down

Amsterdam Noord proves once again why the district is the capital's cultural playground. During Strip Fest on Saturday, May 30, the raw and creative Hamerkwartier will transform into a vibrant festival site where art, music, food and neighborhood culture come together. At more than twenty locations spread throughout the area, you will discover a diverse program full of live music, exhibitions, performances, food concepts and activities for young and old.

From iconic Noord hotspots like Skatecafé, FC Hyena, Garage Noord and Hotel De Goudfazant to creative incubators like Oedipus Craft Space, Chateau Amsterdam and Murmur: during Strip Fest, the Hamerkwartier literally and figuratively opens its doors. Each location will have its own atmosphere and interpretation, allowing visitors to get to know the neighborhood in a surprising way. During the day, the festival mainly revolves around families, local residents and curious Amsterdammers who want to stroll among art installations, children's activities and sunny terraces. Once evening falls, the energy shifts toward live music, DJs and nighttime programs that continue well into the night.

A special role is reserved for the Hammer Room on Spijkerkade 4C. During the festival, Open House will take place here, including a photo hunt and disco with Linda. The Hamerkamer is a new meeting place where residents and interested parties can come together around the future plans of the Hamerkwartier and the development of the neighborhood. This gives Strip Fest not only a cultural, but also a connecting character.

What sets Strip Fest apart from other festivals in Amsterdam is the way it makes the creative identity of Noord visible. The event originated from local entrepreneurs and creators who together make the unique character of the Hammer Quarter want to celebrate. No enclosed festival grounds, but a dynamic exploration of hidden gems, industrial sheds, cafes and cultural hubs.
