Pink Film Days: twelve days of queer cinema that sticks

Roze Filmdagen is the largest LGBTQ+ film festival in the Benelux and will return in 2026 for its 29th edition. Twelve days revolve around feature films, documentaries and shorts, with extras such as talk shows and specials.

Pink Film Days is not about "one big night," but an entire period of time during which you get to see the city a little differently-via film. The 29th edition runs from Wednesday, March 18 to Sunday, March 29, 2026 and traditionally plays in The Boiler House.

The festival is big (and you can tell by the selection): according to the education platform, it involves over 50 feature films and documentaries and 90 short films, supplemented by talk shows and other program elements.

New and convenient: during the opening weekend expands the festival to Theater De Krakeling (across from The Boiler House). This is exactly the kind of expansion you feel as a regular visitor: more slots, more spread out, less "sell-out bad luck."

This festival works because it doesn't just show, it brings together: creators, audiences and stories that take you outside.

Pink Film Days has been around since 1996. It started after there was no sequel to the International Gay and Lesbian Film Festival Holland; a group of film-house people felt there should be another specific festival for queer stories in film and documentary. You can still see those origins: it's not just entertainment, but a place where perspectives and conversations are given space.

Between film blocks, the festival keeps the energy alive with fringe programming. On the official news pages, for example, you'll see regular recurring formats such as a Queer Pub Quiz and news surrounding awards (such as the Hivos Free to be Me Award).
