Helen Beard's visually exciting work is bright, dynamic and voyeuristic. With color, texture and abstraction, Beard frees herself from a predominantly male gaze in her sexual imagery. In the unabashed depictions of female desire, the artist explores themes of gender, sexual psychology and eroticism.

British moves at the intersection of abstract and figurative. Based on found images, characters are reduced to succinctly defined planes of vibrant color. In addition to an eye for cinematic compositions, close-ups and intriguing angles reflect her previous experience as a stylist and assistant art director in the film industry.

Opening hours
The gallery is open Thursday through Saturday from noon - 5 pm.
