Salut à Amsterdam on Gerard Douplein: all-day joie de vivre

Salut à Amsterdam brings a touch Paris-meets-Flanders to De Pijp: an all-day café-restaurant with breakfast to dinner, champagne to cocktails, and a terrace that adds lustre to Gerard Douplein.

Salut calls itself "Parisian with a touch of Flanders": Northern French and Flemish classics with North Sea and Zeeland influence. During the day you'll find croissants, fine coffees and sandwiches "fancy butcher & fishmonger"; later the menu shifts to bistro-comfort with fish, meat and vegetables that come to the table just right. The idea: quality without attitude, and a rhythm in which drinks, dinner and late glass of champagne flow effortlessly into one another.

The spot is new, the signature recognizable: Salut comes from the stable of the creators behind Bisous, and you can feel it in service and atmosphere. The interior is sunny (yellow as the leitmotif), the bar generous, the lighting flattering; the terrace wants to be the "sexiest" in the square - precisely the persuasion that The Pipe loves to embrace.

Retrieved from Instagram read the all-day promise in black and white: BREAKFAST - LUNCH - DINNER - WINE & COCKTAILS. Reservations are made via WhatsApp/DM; walking in is often possible, although scheduling in the evening pays off. The location is officially Gerard Doustraat 98 - a few steps from the Gerard Douplein. This gives Salut the charm of the square without the busiest passage, an advantage for both service and atmosphere.

"Salut is De Pijp squared: sunny, social and dressed just right."

Salut positions itself as neighborhood anchor and entertainment address: for the first coffee, a long lunch in the sun, or cocktails that slow down the evening. The menu reads like traveling comfort food - French in heart, Flemish in soul, Amsterdam in execution. It's the kind of thing you quickly adopt: fixed table, fixed favorite dish, fixed toast to something small.
