Klaproos is all about Italian food without the fuss: pizza and pasta in an informal setting, with plenty of room for wine and music. The restaurant began as a temporary pop-up pizzeria and wine bar in Noord and has since grown into a permanent place where cuisine, culture and nightlife merge.
The basics are familiar: wood oven style pizzas and a pasta menu with an Italian focus. No complicated frills, just traditionally prepared so you just have a good base for the rest of the evening. At the bar, they serve wines with a natural slant. You can tell from the menu: lots of bottles with character, meant to be shared at long tables or over late drinks.

The building itself still exudes the industrial background of the Poppy Road area. The old factory atmosphere has not been polished away, but rather used as a backdrop for a mix of restaurant, wine bar and dance floor. There are several rooms you can rent out for private dining or your own events. While dining in one room, another may have an exhibition hanging or a party going on.

All this together makes Klaproos play a clear role in the transformation of the Poppy Road area. Where once there was mostly industry, you now find a place where food, wine, art and nightlife blend effortlessly and where North residents and visitors meet at the table, at the bar or on the dance floor.
