01. GlouGlou - For pure wine tasting, head to GlouGlou (Helststraat 3) in South. The wine bar pours "vins naturels," meaning wine without artificial additives. You taste only the grape and nothing else. In addition to the impressive wine list, the bar also has small dishes. There is a typical French atmosphere on the bright terrace and inside the cozy bar.
02. Alex + Pinard - In its own words, Alex + Pinard (Dapperstraat 10) in the Dapper neighborhood in Oost is "a bar with lively wine, beer and good food. This wine bar on Dapperstraat serves wines from small producers. The dishes are well affordable and the menu changes with the seasons and, like the wine list, is built around products from small, artisanal producers.
03. Wine bar diVino - Experience an Italian evening out at diVino (Boomstraat 41) in the Jordaan (Center). The menu features only Italian wines brought to the table from Thursday through Saturday along with special dishes prepared by the Italian chef. Lovers of Italian wines know that they are at diVino's beck and call. The owners of the wine bar regularly go to Italy to search for new wines.
04. The Wine List - At De Wijnkaart (Van Breestraat 107) in Oud-Zuid, they serve a carefully curated selection of wines from forgotten wine countries. Think Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Serbia, Greece and Georgia. Countries where, one by one, the history of winemaking actually began. The sommeliers of De Wijnkaart are happy to take you on a journey to discover your own taste.
05. Winehouse Somm - Winehouse Somm (Baffinstraat 1) in the Baarsjes (West) is a cozy wine restaurant where the best wines are combined with excellent food. Whereas most wine bars serve x number of wines by the glass, and most by the bottle, here they don't make a fuss. At Somm they serve all wines by the glass.
06. Chateau Amsterdam - Real Amsterdam wine, it exists! Grapes from all over Europe are made into wine at Chateau Amsterdam (Gedempt Hamerkanaal 139) on the banks of the IJ (North). In this urban winery you can not only watch the process from grape to wine, in their tasting room you can also taste more than 20 homemade wines. Of course while enjoying some small bites and dishes.
