The Weekend of Science is the national science festival for young and old. Institutions such as universities, museums, research centers and (technological) companies open their doors to the public - with an emphasis on encounter, experimentation and wonder.
This year's festival takes place around the theme "How does it work?" take place, with more than 400 participants throughout the Netherlands. At these times, you can do your own experiments, attend lectures and ask questions of scientists about, for example, heart, sun, sea or technology.

In Amsterdam, institutions such as the Free University open labs and institutes to the public. For example, you can see lasers working, experiments with light, biology projects or experience a presentation on brains. Museums and science centers often participate: interactive installations, workshops and tours for all ages.
"Here, curiosity transforms into touch - science in hands, not behind glass."
For visitors, this is a festival to wander: from space to space and from discipline to discipline. You'll discover how science shapes the world around you and see what happens behind the scenes. Children and parents will find adventure and education at the same time.
