Every year changes 24 Hours South the south of the city into one big neighborhood festival. The 2025 edition (Oct. 11) brings a program that cuts across all generations and interests. From breakfast concerts at the Concert Hall to midnight DJs at The School and a film screening at The Gloria - the city stays awake.

The charm of the event is in its layering. You get on your bike and let what's open guide you: studios, sports clubs, gardens, churches, terraces. A wine tasting at Zuidermarkt, a children's workshop at the Olympic Stadium, a secret performance in a hotel bar. A different rhythm everywhere, but the same energy: discovering together.
"Those who experience 24 Hours South cycle not through the city but through its heartbeat - a twenty-four hour period in which neighbors, artists and night birds share the same breath."
Organization 24H Amsterdam (partnering with iamsterdam.com and Stadspas) wants residents and visitors to experience the richness of the city's districts. Zuid is hosting this year, with an extra focus on local entrepreneurs, sustainability and connection. Many locations are free or require a small contribution; the route map will appear online in early October.
24 Hours South is not a festival but a city ritual: one day when you realize again that Amsterdam lives in layers - from morning pastries to nighttime beats.
