Behind the concept lies the idea of Private Mansions, a concept in which two buildings on the Nes are used as exclusive venues. In addition to Maison des Curiosités, Mayer Manor at number 116 is also part of this concept. The Nico Mayer Hall, one of the three rooms in the building, is named after Nico Mayer, a name historically linked to this address. Together, the two properties form a setting that is intentionally kept small, as large-scale events are never the goal here.
That small scale isn’t a limitation—it’s the whole point. Each of the three venues has its own unique atmosphere. The Monster Room can accommodate sixty people in a square layout or forty-five in a classroom-style setup. The Nico Mayer Hall is more intimate, suitable for forty people in a theater-style setup. And then there’s The Cellar of Theatrical Wonders, located in the basement, where both receptions and dinners for sixty people are held. The name says it all: here, you’re not sitting in a meeting room—you’re sitting on a stage set.
