Next to the main entrance of Artis Zoo, the new café-restaurant De Plantage recently opened in the 19th-century conservatory, where the programs of De Wereld Draait Door used to be recorded. A fruitful collaboration by the people behind restaurants Dauphine, Riva and Cafe Amsterdam. The former Members' Hall has a wide and green view of the freely accessible Artisplein, where the sunny terrace, under the old plane trees, offers a view of the animals of Artis. The kitchen is in the hands of chef Koen van Brunschot who carries a colorful menu with influences from the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East.
