Satay House Senayan brings Javanese satay to 9 Streets

Satay House Senayan is the European premiere of the Indonesian chain Sate Khas Senayan. In the 9 Streets they are betting full on Indonesian satay and other classics, with the idea: real Indonesian flavors, without concessions. Behind the business is the Sarirasa Group, an established name with decades of experience in Indonesia.

Satay House Senayan is not an isolated Indonesian eatery, but the first European branch of the well-known Indonesian restaurant family Sate Khas Senayan. Behind this address is the Sarirasa Group, a large Indonesian catering company that has specialized in sate and classic dishes of Indonesian cuisine for many years.

The angle is clear: here, everything revolves around Indonesian sate as the main issue. Think skewers normally prepared on street carts in Jakarta or other Indonesian cities, but served out in a sit-down restaurant. The dishes are clearly inspired by street food, but you just sit at a table, with service and a quiet setting to eat at length.

Besides sate, the menu revolves around traditional Indonesian classics. The idea is to bring the flavors as served in Indonesia here as directly as possible. Not a cheapened version, but a menu that leans on the recipes and experience of the original Sate Khas Senayan restaurants. The Sarirasa Group is using its years of knowledge of Indonesian food culture to continue that line in this new establishment.

In addition to sate, the menu revolves around traditional Indonesian classics.

Since opening in late September 2025, this Jordaan establishment has taken on a distinct role: a permanent fixture on the 9 Streets where Indonesian sate is not a side dish, but the main thing around which the entire experience is built.
