Good for an evening when you don't want to think about what you order, but just trust what comes to the table. - Jan Evertsenstraat 43, De Baarsjes

A coffee kiosk on Admiraal de Ruijterweg, run by brothers Benjamin and Patrick who themselves live in the neighborhood. They serve high-level specialty coffee: iced lattes, flat whites, strong double espressos, all prepared with the same care. The fresh pastries and grilled cheese are in themselves a reason to visit. On sunny days, the small terrace grows organically over the wide sidewalk and the music turns up a notch. Good to combine with lunch at Le French Café diagonally across the street. - Admiraal de Ruijterweg 4, De Baarsjes

The Baarsjes doesn't have a bad evening.
