TonTon Club North is part of the family of TonTon Club, an arcade bar that has been in town since 2013. The North location attracts the same crowd: people who feel like playing, but with a drink in hand instead of in a traditional arcade. It's not about rushing to play a game here, but a night out built entirely around games.
Set up in the room are retro arcade machines, the cabinets with buttons and joysticks you normally still see mostly in old arcades. Think of those brightly lit screens, rows of buttons and the sound of coins and digital tunes in the background. In addition, there are Japanese-style button bashers: fast, physical game machines that you can play with several people at once. The combination of light, sound and movement largely determines the atmosphere.

Besides arcade cabinets, there is a focus on slower games. Board games and other tabletop games are laid out on tables. This makes TonTon Club North suitable for groups that don't want to stand behind a cabinet all evening, but also want to sit at a table, play and catch up. Board games and arcade machines coexist here, making it easy to switch between different types of games.

The North location adds something to the district's nightlife. Where other places focus on music or art, TonTon Club Noord puts the focus entirely on gaming combined with hospitality. In doing so, it ties in with the city's playful nightlife culture and gives Noord a distinct spot for anyone who wants to spend an evening button-rattling, dice-throwing and bar-hopping.
