In Noord, on Papaverhoek, there\u2019s a gallery that bears little resemblance to the white, cube-like spaces you find elsewhere in the city. WDSTCK presents objects that straddle the line between art and interior design, each one handmade and each with its own story. No production lines, no mass-produced series of a thousand. Each object is the result of a deliberate choice of material, form, and meaning. The surroundings play a role in this: Papaverhoek is located close to the water and the green spaces of Noord, and that proximity to nature seeps into what the collective creates.<\/h2>\n

Behind WDSTCK are eight artists: Jesse Sanderson, Catie Newell, Wes McGee, Wim Verzantvoort, Miriam Knibbeler, Chiel Kuijl, Roland de Mul, and Akko. \u201cMultidisciplinary\u201d is not just a buzzword here, but a description of how the collective operates in practice. Each artist brings their own discipline, materials, and aesthetic to the table. This does not result in a uniform house style, but rather a cohesive body of work that you recognize as WDSTCK without all the pieces looking alike. The collection grows out of personal stories and a shared sense of materiality and craftsmanship.<\/p>\n

The gallery itself has a minimalist design. No cluttered layout, no overcrowded walls. Objects are given room to breathe and are presented as the curiosities they are. The walls are bare where necessary, and the lighting is focused. Anyone who steps inside immediately notices that this is a place where careful thought has gone into how to display things. That fits the collective\u2019s character: adding soulful objects to everyday life, but in a way that isn\u2019t flashy.<\/p>\n

In recent years, Noord has attracted many creative spaces, but WDSTCK doesn\u2019t fit into the list of coworking spaces and pop-up shops.
