The Jewel is housed in a landmark trade school more than a hundred years old, where woodworking, mechanics and metalwork used to be taught. You can still feel that history. There is something unexpected about the space: endless brick walls, heavy columns supporting the ceiling, a glass roof that lets light through, and large stained-glass windows that look out into the night. It's the kind of venue you won't soon forget.

The programming is as meticulous as the building is impressive. Take Flourish, Rozie's house and UK garage night, which returns regularly with names like Maruwa from Germany, Freddi and ANNASNEL. Or Rose Ringed, who shows a very different side with her HRMNY series: melodic techno and progressive house, and then also in a ten-hour solo session. That's not an experiment, that's a statement. LatinVillage also regularly takes over the building, with Jarreau Vandal headlining and a lineup that cuts across afro, reggaeton and house, joined by Kurashi, Ginton, AK Soundsystem, Baba Chulo and Piero Farho.

The building has two areas. The large main hall for the full layer, and the Plaatwerkerij for those who want something more intimate. Deodaat is a permanent resident there, and its own community collective Eye Ris regularly takes over the Plaatwerkerij completely. This gives the place its own ecosystem, apart from the big names that also drop by. The club also collaborates with renowned parties such as LatinVillage and Crits Agency, which keeps the programming broad and varied.

Rose Ringed plays a ten-hour solo session: melodic techno and progressive house, which is not an experiment but a statement.

Events run from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. as standard. Most nights are for guests 21 and older, although there are exceptions for 18+. Lockers are available in two sizes. Smoking area is outside, and the building is wheelchair accessible through a separate entrance. And yes, chewing gum is prohibited due to the historic nature of the floor. Logical really.

Few clubs in the city have such a building.
