Since the merger in 2018, everything here is about making as well as receiving. ITA produces its own performances with a permanent ensemble of actors while bringing companies from home and abroad to the city.<\/h2>\n<p>The heart of the building is the Great Hall, the classic theater auditorium with the allure of 1894. Next to it is the modern Rabo Hall, designed for large productions with contemporary technology. In smaller rooms there is room for more intimate or experimental work. These include not only theater and dance, but also introductions, after-parties and in-depth talks. The so-called perspective programs tie in with the themes of the performances: makers at the table, discussions with the audience, or a short introduction before the curtain goes up. In this way, a broader conversation about social issues arises around major productions.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Annually, ITA programs around 600 performances and related programs.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Beyond the stage, the building remains lively. The foyer and brasserie form a meeting place for visitors, makers and people who flock to Leidseplein. Before or after a performance, theatergoers sit down here, while a mix of major premieres, guest performances, festival programs and tours by international companies rotates in the auditoriums.
