Walking along the Amstel River in Oost, De Ysbreeker immediately stands out as a fixture on the waterfront. The caf\u00e9-restaurant sits in a historic building whose origins date back to 1702. The name refers to an icebreaker ship that used to be in front of the door. All this time it has remained a recognizable catering point on the river.<\/h2>\n

Inside, De Ysbreeker feels like a spacious brasserie. Large windows let in plenty of daylight, giving you a good view of the Amstel River. The layout is clearly separated: a long bar for a quick coffee or drink, lounge corners where people sit quietly reading or working, and dining tables for more elaborate meals. Because of those different zones, the day here runs in one motion, from early coffee to a last glass late at night.<\/p>\n
