Markt Centraal is the first new occupant of the Central Market Hall in the Food Center Amsterdam. This multipurpose stage is located in a national monument built between 1932 and 1934 to replace an open-air fruit and vegetable market. Architect Nicolaas Lansdorp designed the building with a practical layout, beautiful proportions and plenty of symmetry. The preservation of this monumental architecture was recently completed with a thorough restoration.<\/h2>\n
