What began in 2017 as a loft party in a railroad shed in Shoreditch grew into an international phenomenon in five years. Today, The Disco Express is a label, a community and a feeling: the golden years of disco translated into the energy of today. While other labels saw the lockdown years as a pause, The Disco Express actually switched gears - with nearly a hundred releases, all recorded with live musicians.<\/p>\n

The anniversary will be celebrated in the only way befitting their name: on the move. On Thursday, Oct. 23, from 11:59 p.m. to 4 a.m., the ADE Club Train will depart from Amsterdam Central Station. Four hundred visitors spread across seven carriages, three stages, a chill-area and a bar carriage overlooking the skyline. The lineup is as legendary as it is symbolic: Barbara Tucker, Stacy Kidd, Jafunk, Block & Crown, Crystal Touch and label boss Bustin' Loose.<\/p>\n

Besides the party appears TDE100<\/em>, a fifteen-track compilation that sums up the label's sound: from funk to soulful house and nu-disco. Contributions come from such luminaries as Derrick Carter, John Morales and The Fatback Band - all recorded with live musicians worldwide.<\/p>\n
