Buurtboerderij Centraal is more than just a lunchroom; it is a social enterprise located at the Marineterrein in Amsterdam. This unique location offers an inviting atmosphere where locals and visitors alike can gather for a cup of coffee and a delicious lunch. Service is provided by both permanent staff and volunteers, including people with a distance to the labor market. Here they not only get the chance to gain valuable work experience, but also to bring structure to their lives.
Unfortunately, Neighborhood Farm Central faced a devastating fire in August 2024 that completely razed its original location in Westerpark. Fortunately, the organization quickly found a temporary home at the Marineterrein. This makeshift location will allow it to continue providing its services to the community while plans are underway to rebuild the original farmhouse. Reconstruction is expected to be complete by 2026.
