The city is bustling with entertainment venues. There is something for every taste and occasion. Today we turn our attention to MeWe, a brand new boutique club in the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, founded by hospitality men Jeffrey van Alphen, Vladimir Orelio and Saïd Bardan (Café in the City and Bubbels, among others). Gentlemen who have more than earned their spurs in the hospitality industry.
A solution to the evening dilemma
Imagine this: you've just enjoyed a delicious dinner with your party, surrounded by luxurious dishes like oysters and wagyu. But what to do after dinner? Go to a quiet hotel bar or a crowded pub where the atmosphere is not inviting to further linger? Jeffrey van Alphen saw this problem and decided to solve it with the creation of MeWe, a boutique club where guests can enjoy the evening together in a stylish setting.
A Unique Mix of Luxury and Accessibility
MeWe is not just a club; it is also an LVMH flagship store. This means luxury living is at your fingertips with exclusive drinks not yet available in the Netherlands, including high-end vodkas, wines and champagnes. And for lovers, there is also Clase Azul tequila, a drink that has its price but is undeniably good. "But you can also just enjoy a cold beer here," Van Alphen adds.

Culinary delights
The culinary interpretation of MeWe is in the hands of chef Dennis Huwaë, known from Michelin-starred restaurant Daalder. The menu of "bites" is designed to offer guests a variety of flavors until midnight. Jeffrey van Alphen, who himself cooks for his friends at Daalder, is excited about the collaboration. "My gabbers at Daalder," he says while enjoying a small piece of wagyu meat.
The perfect ambiance
The ambiance of MeWe, located over two floors on Korte Leidsedwarsstraat, is both upscale and cozy. Jeffrey stresses the importance of a safe and relaxed environment where people can make connections. "We want to create a community of creative, open-minded people where they can be themselves and make great memories together," said the founder.

The meaning behind MeWe
The name MeWe comes from the English word "me" and "we"; a symbol of the individual within the community. The idea is that you can be yourself in the company of others. "I'm not doing this for myself, but so that people can enjoy the beautiful things in life together," Van Alphen explains.
With this initiative, Amsterdam has gained a valuable addition. MeWe is not only a place where you can enjoy refined drinks and bites, but also a meeting place for like-minded people. The perfect location for a cozy night out in the heart of the city.
